Located near the center of San José del Cabo, the Chulavista Complex consists of six houses, each measuring 118m², that share a central courtyard. We strategically positioned the houses to make the central courtyard as large as possible, effectively creating a communal space. To enter each house, one must pass through this central courtyard, providing residents with a space to disconnect from the pressures of the outside world.

We strategically positioned the houses to make the central courtyard as large as possible, effectively creating a communal space. To enter each house, one must pass through this central courtyard, providing residents with a space to disconnect from the pressures of the outside world.
INTERIOR - EXTERIOR CONNECTION
We believe that living should always be accompanied by nature. For the typical design of the houses, we ensured that all spaces have a clear connection to the outdoors. Each house has a private garden large enough to accommodate an outdoor breakfast area, and by using windows in different orientations, cross ventilation is achieved in every space, allowing the air to help cool the interior. The houses are surrounded by small gardens, ensuring they are always visually connected to greenery that provides shade inside.
RESPECT FOR THE NATURAL CONTEXT
The land slopes upward away from the street. Instead of leveling the terrain, as is commonly done, we decided to take advantage of this opportunity to maximize the height of each house within the limits allowed by the building regulations. This way, each house has a rooftop terrace with almost unobstructed views of the sea. On these terraces, we designed a living area with hammocks and a barbecue to create a space for family recreation.
